How it started
It started with a chicken.
Before Zafirm had a name, a fund, or a single partner, it had a five-minute story we told in someone’s office. Here it is.

The setup
We were the contractors.
We were the construction company on a project — boots on the ground, day after day — when the property next door came into view. Not on a screen. Not in a flyer. From the job site, where you learn what a block is worth and where it’s headed.
We wanted it. So we went and found the money.
The response
Most of them said no.
Polite no’s. Quiet no’s. The kind that really mean I’d rather not think about this. From the outside, the deal looked ordinary — and that was the entire problem. The value was there, but it was invisible to anyone who hadn’t stood on the block.
So we stopped describing the deal. We walked into an office, asked for five minutes, and pitched him a chicken.
The chicken speech
The Faroe Islands had no chickens.
For most of their history: generations of farmers, sheep and cattle and hardworking families, and not a single bird. So picture meeting one of those farmers — a simple, honest man who has raised animals his whole life. Now try to describe a chicken to him.
It’s a bird — but it can’t fly. Well… it tries. A few inches. That’s it.
A bird that can’t fly? Makes no sense.
It has the juiciest meat of any fowl on Earth. One of the most delicious foods known to man.
Impossible. If it tasted that good, everyone would raise it.
Oh, it gets better. They reproduce insanely fast. Toss a hundred of them into a coop, feed them scraps and shavings off the floor — and they thrive.
No animal produces that easily. Doesn’t exist.
And every single day, it produces the greatest ingredient in the world. You can fry it, bake it, scramble it, put it into a cake. People line up for it.
And how do you collect this… miracle food?
You don’t. The chicken packages it for you. A perfect, sealed container. One per day. No work required.
At that point he’s certain you’re crazy. Nothing in his world behaves like that.
But chickens do exist.
Value like that is real. It’s just invisible to the people who never learned to see it. The property next door was a chicken — and everyone had spent their whole lives walking past the coop.
The answer
He said yes.
He said yes — and that investor is our partner today. He didn’t say yes because the numbers suddenly looked different. He said yes because he finally saw the thing we were describing.
That’s the whole reason Zafirm exists: not because we find better deals than everyone else, but because we see the ones nobody else is looking at — and we have the hands to build them ourselves.
The name
Tzafnat Paneach.
Zafirm takes its name from Tzafnat Paneach — the name Pharaoh gave to Joseph in Egypt, meaning “the revealer of hidden things.”
Joseph was history’s great economic strategist: seven years of capex, then seven years of passive income. He didn’t invent grain. He saw what Egypt already had and built a plan around it while everyone else was still looking.
That is the mission in a name — reveal what’s hidden, then have the discipline to act on it.
The next one
We’re always looking for the next chicken.
Somewhere there’s a property that hasn’t been put up for sale, an owner we haven’t met yet, and a story we haven’t told. We intend to be the ones who find it.
Partner with us
The first investor who said yes wasn’t sold a story.
He saw the property the way we did. If you tend to see value before it’s obvious, we’d like to start a conversation.
